Getting started with your Citizen DIY Lashes:

What are DIY Lashes?
- Citizen Lash is a do it yourself lash company created by lash extension artists. We wanted something for everyday wear that still felt high quality, customizable, and easy to use. Most DIY lash brands only offer one or two lengths in a tray, which can feel limiting. With our lash system, you get a full range of lengths in one tray, so you can create any look you want.
Are they beginner friendly?
- Yes, they are very easy and quick to apply. The first few times might feel a little new, which is totally normal. I always suggest giving yourself about 30-45 minutes the first time so you can follow along with our tutorials and get comfortable with the steps. After a couple of practice rounds, most people can apply a full set in 10 minutes or less.
Are DIY Lashes reusable?
- Yes, you can reuse each set 10+ times. We recommend removing your lashes each night with Citizen Remover, then giving them a quick rinse in warm soapy water. Even a small dot of Johnson’s Baby Soap with warm water will wash the remover off the lashes. Once they are clean and dry, you can reuse them as many times as you like.

Can I apply lashes from the top or bottom?
- Yes, you can apply your lashes either on top of your natural lashes or underneath them. It really just depends on your natural lashes and the look you want to create.

Lash Troubleshooting:

Why do my lashes look uneven?
-
This usually means the lashes were placed a little off. A few things can cause this:
-
They might be angled slightly instead of sitting in line with your lash line.
-
They might be too far from your water line.
-
Or they might be placed a little too close to it.
-
How do I make my lash set look darker?
- Love the set you created but want a little more darkness? You can easily make your lashes look darker by either overlapping them slightly or doubling up the full set.
- A little darker: Instead of placing each lash right beside the next one, you can overlap the tips just a touch. This gives a slightly bolder, fuller look without making them heavy.
- Extra dark: If you want even more intensity, you can apply a second full set directly over the first one. You can do this on top of your natural lashes or above the set you already applied. It might sound heavy, but it still feels lightweight.
Wear Time, Maintenance, and Removal:

How long can I wear DIY lashes without removing them?
- We always recommend removing your DIY lashes at night so your natural lashes stay healthy and clean underneath. If you prefer to wear them for more than one day, you absolutely can (up to 7 day). If you plan to keep them on for multiple days, we suggest skipping mascara since it is meant to make nightly removal easier.
- For the best long lasting result, apply your lashes on clean natural lashes and avoid using creams or oils near the eyes right before applying or while wearing them. If one lifts during the day, you can re glue and reapply.

How do I clean my lashes if I am wearing them for multiple days?
- If you are wearing mascara under your DIY lashes and want to remove your eye makeup without taking off your lash set, avoid getting cleanser on the lash line. Gently cleanse only your eyelid area. If cleanser touches the mascara, it will likely break down the lashes
- If you aren't wearing mascara, you can cleanse your lashes using the Citizen Daily Cleanser and a soft bristled brush. Use a gentle downward motion on your lashes and cleanse your full eye area. Once you are done, splash water over the area to rinse away any leftover cleanser. Pat dry gently. If any lashes lift during cleansing, you can reapply them with Connection Glue. There is no need to remove your full set unless you want to.
